Should charities run prisons?
The debate about whether charities should run prisons is getting quite lively. We are about to write to the Charity Commission asking them to investigate. I have written an article for The Times today setting out our position.

If Charities cannot benifit Prisons by running them, on the contrary can Prisons offer Charities and charitable causes anything?
This article: (http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/local/northyorks/4535403.Prison_service_raises___15_000_for_children_s_charity/) saw 11 Prison serves raise £15,000 for Clic Sargent, a charity that helps children suffering from cancer over a period of time.
Perhaps involving certain establishments i.e youth institutes, subject to the risk the offenders pose and with reasonable measures taken could see charitable causes and influences benefiting Prisons in a positive and more praticable manner?
