Student FUNdraising
The Howard League is a completely independent charity, reliant on voluntary donations to fund our research, our campaigns, our publications and aspects of our legal work.
With a bit of imagination and creativity, fundraising work can be very enjoyable. It provides an opportunity for our student groups to work together, and get to know each other, which will in turn contribute to the development and strength of the Howard League for Penal Reform.
In the last year alone the events that have been organised have ranged widely from national music festivals and local benefit gigs through to sponsored swimming, sponsored T-shirt wearing, raffles, quizzes and a whole host of other events. While they were organised to raise money, these sorts of events also had other objectives as well, like raising awareness our campaigns and building contacts and mailing lists.
For the past few summers, Howard League students have sent teams of volunteers to fundraise for the Howard League at music festivals including Glastonbury, Latitude and Leeds. The volunteers get a free ticket and more importantly, hot showers, and at the same time the Howard League receives money for the hours the volunteers work.

We’re confident that this year will be the biggest year to date for our student groups, and you will continue to put the FUN into fundraising.
To help you fundraise we've put together a handy document full of ideas, checklists and helpful hints and tips.
Download it and our other How To Guides from our Toolkit.
So get thinking and get fundraising! Good luck!
